Seafood Processing Plant

Starting from a review of the production process and a study for energy upgrading through new refrigeration technology, we moved on to delivery: supply, installation and commissioning of the equipment.

The project included stripping out the worn materials of the existing cold rooms and replacing them, as well as building new cold rooms that meet health regulations for long-term storage and preservation of fish. The cold room doors were replaced with modern sliding doors offering better thermal break, minimising losses from inside the room, and high-transparency strip curtains were fitted in the lobbies.

Inside the cold rooms, new-generation forced circulation air coolers were installed, consuming 30% less than the old ones. For the higher energy demand during peak production, a MULTI refrigeration unit with intelligent demand management was built and connected, using electronic pressure and temperature sensors.

For the rooms with wide swings in demand, caused by repeated loading and unloading through the day, a refrigeration unit with inverter compressor technology and a remote air-cooled condenser was built. The system is fully automated, with remote monitoring and management, without the need to be physically present in each storage area.

For the movement of goods in and out of the storage and production areas, our company supplied and installed automatic high-speed doors opening at up to 3 metres per second. The doors have motion detection radar for automatic operation, control buttons, a manual pull cord in case of power failure, and a central safety panel.

Because the project formed part of a development programme, the whole installation had to be designed and delivered on time while meeting high standards of quality and efficiency. Its payback was achieved in a shorter period than had been calculated.
